EMDR Refresher Day

Matt Wesson

13 Mar 2024

Introduction

Have you completed your EMDR Accredited training but feel lost in amongst the numerous protocols taught on different workshops? Does your anxiety about EMDR mean you sometimes avoid using it with clients?  Are you concerned you might have drifted from the most effective and efficient ways of using this therapeutic approach?  Are you confused with the recommendations regarding EMDR and PTSD?  If you related to some or all of these questions, then you should find this full day workshop useful.

The event will be equivalent to 5.1/2hrs of CPD.

Content

The research that has led to EMDR Therapy being recommended by
various national and international bodies is nearly all based on the
effectiveness of the standard EMDR protocol. Therefore, this day will focus on revising the whole 8 phased approach.

Discussions and questions will be actively promoted throughout to make the day as practical as possible (although this is not a clinical supervision day). The strategies covered will be applicable to real-life clinical sessions. It will be delivered in Matthew’s friendly, clear, and empathic teaching approach that will make the learning fun, engaging, and interesting.

Learning Objectives

1. To be aware of the current evidence supporting EMDR therapy
2. Learning how to utilise the 8-phase standard protocol with fidelity and flexibility
3. Ways to manage and minimise therapeutic drift

Training Modalities

Didactic content, case discussions, demonstration roleplays, questions and answers. The day will be hosted online.

Low Intensity clinical contact hours survey - BABCP Low Intensity Special Interest Group

Please click below if you are interested in contributing to the survey.

The BACP Low Intensity SIG are interested in the impact of clinical contact hours on Low Intensity/Wellbeing Practitioner wellbeing. This questionnaire contains six multi-choice questions and a free text box for you to share your experiences. The answers to these questions will help the BABCP SIG plan how to meet CPD topics and other developments within the SIG.  The SIG hope to produce a write up of the answers to this questionnaire to be shared with SIG members and to be used in training.
